- Mission Statement -
Our mission is to ensure all buildings on campus and in halls meet the highest sustainability standards, to minimise food & plastic waste whilst maximising recycling rates.
Projects
In Halls:
- Halls Survey & Waste Audit: Understanding the problem with quantitative and qualitative data, and crafting a tailored strategy to increase sustainability in halls.
- Project Winnow Solutions: Assisting in the installation of AI technology in Halls’ catering to help identify food waste patterns and inform chefs to accurately manage production volumes and order ingredients more effectively, reducing food waste at the source.
- Donation Points in Hall: Creating collection points for students to donate non-perishable food that they cannot consume, reducing food waste, and helping the needy.
On Campus:
- Digitalization of Student ID: Pushing for a virtual version of student ID to reduce plastic waste created from student cards.
- Promotion of Too Good to Go: Increasing awareness and usage of Too Good to Go on campus to reduce food waste while allowing students to buy food at a discounted price.
- Supporting LSE’s sustainability team with projects such as departmental office decluttering, updating the posters of the mixed recycling bins on campus.
