The Great Plastic divestment
The Great Plastic Divestment aims to reduce single-use plastics purchased at LSE, eliminate plastic litter on campus and improve waste data collection. Throughout Michaelmas Term our team devised a 44-page report - an investigation of plastic waste at LSE. Now we are implementing the most urgent solutions proposed in the report: 1) a Zero Waste Shop as part of the LSE General Store, 2) the installation of special cigarette butt bins and 3) extensive waste audits to enable the improvement of waste data. Communications and procurement manager
Support The Great Plastic Divestment in implementing its three solutions to the plastic waste problem at LSE
Liaise with Catering to help the process of introducing sustainable products to the LSE General Store
Coordinate smooth communication between suppliers and Catering
Reach out to waste auditors to arrange the first annual audit
Order Ballot Bins and arrange their installation on campus
Creative director (for both The Great Food Fight and The Great Plastic Divestment)
Devise creative strategy for both The Great Food Fight and The Great Plastic Divestment
Take charge of all advertising efforts and social media communications
The Great Food Fight will run an art competition next year in collaboration with the Creative Network - the creative director will be a key part of this project
